I'm a fan of author and comic book writer Neil Gaiman. If anyone has the cred to give tips on being a Independent/freelancer he's the man. He gave the commencement address at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His recipe for success is to always do two of these three things: 1. Do good work 2. Be easy to get along with 3. For a recent project, I created a illustrated graph that shows the number of full time salary workers from 2000-2010 by race and gender. Besides the fact that today's overall numbers are about the same as in 2000, there are some other facts I found interesting. One is that there are still more white male full time workers in the U.S. than female full time workers of all races and ethnicities combined, but that statistic want hold much longer.
